The Alex Le’Vasseur Memorial Skatepark
est. October 2010 in Brentwood, TN

**The Skatepark is currently under renovation at the Brentwood Family YMCA**

The Alex Le’Vasseur Memorial Skatepark established in October of 2010 is located at the Brentwood YMCA (8207 Concord Road Brentwood, TN 37027).  In May of 2010 a devastating flood took place in Middle Tennessee.  The Brentwood skatepark was over 10 years old and in need of repair, during the flood the park was completely under water, making the need for repair and renovation even more prevalent.  The Le’Vasseur family approached the Middle Tennessee YMCA after the flood and asked if they could rebuild the Brentwood skatepark in Alex’s name. After a total of five months of planning and working to make this happen, including four weeks of park closure, the new and vastly improved skatepark, designed by Donny Myhre of theFranklin Skate Shop, opened on Sunday October 24th 2010 with an official Ribbon-cuttingCelebration.  The total cost of the project is in the $80,000 range, with all funds generated  from the Alex Le’Vasseur Memorial Fund of the Community Foundation of MIddle Tennessee.  Due to generous donations from local businesses, as well as volunteered help, including a volunteer based demolition of the old skatepark, the Alex Le’Vasseur Fund was able to say thousands of dollars on the overall project. The Alex Le’Vasseur Memorial Skate Park hosts Skate Competitions and other events through out the year. Please check in with the Brentwood Family YMCA for more info!
